Again when I first started off, I was playing at a frame rate of about 10- 12fps.

When I started out I had a thrustmaster X HOTAS and I thought that "it" sucked, but in fact, after trying out several different set ups, realised that it was "I", who sucked!įirst off though let me ask you (since you mentioned basic set up) what kind of frame rates are you getting in game? This can and will effect your controls if it is low. You will find that this takes some time and practice to get your gunnery up to snuff. Preferably Ambidextrous, as I am left-handed, but can get over it. Recommend a quality joystick for use with CLOD. Can you carefully calibrate a "quality" joystick to provide small inputs near axis centre, and larger inputs at axis edge, to work in CLOD?Ģ. I do intend to invest in a better flightstick, but I just need to know if the problem is me or the hardware.Īny tips or opinions would be most welcome.ġ. I also hear on forums that CLOD does not support the older IL2-1946 type sensitivity curves/calibration, because that caused exploits in multiplayer, with some players having aircraft "on rails", with very smooth flying characteristics.
Star citizen joystick sensitivity curve install#
My AV8R-03 does not have native vendor drivers - it uses generic Win7 device type, and I cannot thus install the Saitek profiler software. My bullet strike rate is terrible - 12 to 17 percent! I find dogfighting easier than bomber intercepts, as at least in a turning fight you can use some deflection, but getting up behind a bomber requires very small corrections, which I cannot achieve easily. The input at the centre of an axis is way too sensitive, making gunnery very hard indeed. My joystick is a very basic Saitek AV8R-03, and I am having great problems with sensitivity. I am still a "beginner" in CLOD, and have a very basic setup, so I am not expecting the world from my hardware. I have searched these forums and other for answers on joystick functionality, to no avail, so hopefully someone can help.
